The hot news from Tots Bots HQ is that Friendly Baby's delivery of the new Bamboozle S-T-R-E-T-C-H is winging its way to us right now. Good news for those of you with pre-orders. For those that have yet to place your order, here are a few FAQs that might help you make a decision - To Stretch, or Not To Stretch?
Q. Will the original Bamboozle still be available?
A. Yes!
Q. What is the difference between the Stretchy and the Flexi?
A. In a nutshell, the Stretchy is the all natural bamboo two piece, the Flexi is the quick dry two piece.
Q. How quickly will it dry?
A. Around 12 - 18 hours in a warm airing cupboard.
Q. Is there a booster included?
A. Yes there is a pop in booster included in the price for both size 1 and size 2.
Q. Why would I buy the size 1 if size 2 is a birth to potty nappy?
A. The size 1 Stretchy is ideal for low birthweight babies as it will popper down to a really tiny 5lbs and not be up to baby's armpits. It is more of a pre-size nappy.
Q. At what weight will I open out the popper settings?
A. There are no hard and fast rules here as it really depends on
the shape and size of each baby. The most important thing to remember is the minimum and the maximum weight range (though you may well get away with 5-20lbs with the size 1 dependent upon the shape of your baby's tum and legs)...
Size 1 = 6lbs - 18lbs
Size 2 = 9lbs - 40lbs

Something Frou Frou for the Girls
Well they say we learn something new every day, and do you know that today I learned that 'Frou Frou' means frills, ribbons or ruffles on girls clothing (pronounced Froo Froo). Do you know what has been missing from the Splash About Happy Nappy Swim Nappy all this time for little girls? That is right, you guessed it, frills and ruffles. Well not any longer! We are pleased to introduce you to the Splash About Frou Frou!
This gorgeous little number will make your little girl's Happy Nappy not only the height of fashion in the baby swimming world, but will also make your little girl look gorgeously girly. Available in pink & mango and navy & white, when used in combination with the matching Happy Nappy will look just like a traditional swimming costume, with of course pretty little frou frou!
Friendly Baby has this available at a special introductory offer of 10% off RRP.

Breastfeeding in Public
Tips for New or Expectant Mums by Keira O’Mara from Mamascarf
So you are pregnant and you know that you want to breastfeed your baby. Congratulations! Maybe you have started breastfeeding but not yet ventured out in public. Breastfeeding in public can be a scary thought for any new mum and even not so new mums. These tips should help you on your way.
So you are pregnant and you know that you want to breastfeed your baby. Congratulations! Maybe you have started breastfeeding but not yet ventured out in public. Breastfeeding in public can be a scary thought for any new mum and even not so new mums. These tips should help you on your way.
- Practise in front of a mirror. It might help you to know exactly what can be seen when you are breastfeeding your baby, you might be pleasantly surprised!
- Wear the right clothes. Ensure that you are wearing something that you are comfortable in and that can give you easy access for feeding. This might be a large top that you can easily lift or open. Layering with a cardigan can offer additional coverage. There are many different styles of breastfeeding clothing available, often with hidden openings across the chest allowing access without having to lift or remove any item of clothing. You might choose to double layer vests and lift one and pull down the other which will provide a similar effect.
- Take a friend along for moral support. If you are going to breastfeed in public for the first time, you should take someone supportive along with you whether this be your partner, friend, mum or even some other new mums.
- Go to a breastfeeding friendly place. You may want to seek out some breastfeeding friendly places in your local area and choose one for your first outing. Your Midwife or Health Visitor should be able to advise you on breastfeeding friendly places. Often child/baby friendly cafes are breastfeeding friendly.
- Find a seat out of the way. If you are still feeling nervous you may want to find a seat out of the way or in the corner until you increase your confidence.
- You could use a breastfeeding scarf or cover such as a Mamascarf. This not only provides privacy for public breastfeeding but allows you to see your baby throughout the feed, can’t be pulled off and also provides some additional support.
- Plan your route. If you know where you are going to be when it’s feeding time, you will be able to make sure that you are somewhere you are going to feel comfortable breastfeeding your baby.
- Have confidence in yourself and what you are doing. You are breastfeeding your baby, it is your right! It is the best food you can give your baby and it is also good for you too. Good luck and remember it gets easier with time. Happy Breastfeeding!

Potion!
Unlike other low temperature detergents Tots Bots Potion Nappy Wash is a completely natural product and does not contain any synthetic enzymes. As you know enzymes are very much a no no when it comes to washing baby things - even more so where nappies are concerned. They are also pretty harsh on the environment. As with Tots Bots nappies, Potion is manufactured right here in the UK. It is allergy tested, has not been tested on animals and is free from synthetic perfumes. Whilst Potion was initially developed to wash cloth nappies in, it also works great on all laundry. The staff at Tots Bots use it exclusively (their kid's socks have never been so clean) it truly is magic!
- Antibacterial
- Active at 30°C
- 100% natural - no enzymes
- Fragrance free
- Vegan approved
- Allergy tested
- No need for separate laundry detergent or nappy sanitisers!
Sold in packs of 3 1kg bags. 10% discount if 6 or more 1kg bags are purchased at the same time.
Also available as part of the Tots Bots Nappy Accessory Kit. Save 10% when you buy the Tots Bots Nappy Accessory Kit, comprising 1kg of Tots Bots Potion, a Tots Bots 16L lockable nappy bucket, and two Tots Bots laundry mesh (one for the bucket, one for the wash).
VAT and the world economy in general...
As we all know 2009 was a special year for the UK economy with the standard rate of VAT being reduced from 17.5% to 15%. As of 1st January 2010 the standard rate of VAT is once again 17.5%. Many of the Friendly Baby items are zero-rated meaning that there is no VAT charged on them (all the nappies, wraps, liners, baby swimming costumes, towels...), however toys, toiletries, bedding, etc do incur VAT. Friendly Baby has made the decision to in effect lower our pre-VAT prices as of 1st January so that there is zero impact to you of the increase in VAT.
However, some of our manufactureres have had no choice but to increase their prices significantly due to exchange rates and various other world events. We are delaying increasing our prices as long as we can but for high-turnover items where prices have increased significantly we have no choice and will very soon have to increase our price to you (in many cases the Friendly Baby price is actually lower than the new wholesale price!), so to give you a headstart before some of the prices increase we recommend if you are planning to purchase Mother-ease Air Flow or Mother-ease Rikki wraps any time soon don't delay!
